A service was held at Didcot's War Memorial, Smallbone Recreation Ground, on Saturday, 15th August 2020 at 11.00 hrs to pay tribute to those who fought in the Far East which brought an end to World War Two. The anniversary was marked by a short service conducted by Revd Fran Childs, St Peter's Church, Didcot. Wreaths were laid by the President of Didcot Royal British Legion, Duncan Boscott, Mayor of Didcot, Cllr Eleanor Hards and Capt Robert Kelly, 11 EOD & Search Regiment, RLC, Vauxhall Barracks. The Last Post and Reveille were sounded by Steve Chapman, Wantage Silver Band. Twelve people observing social distancing were in attendance representing the foregoing organisations.
